Flora Jean Corey, 89, of Voluntown, CT, formerly of North Kingstown, died April 6, 2024 at Backus Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald T. Corey. Born in Birmingham, AL, she was a daughter of the late Jack D. McKnight and Flora Mae (Cox) McKnight.

Mrs. Corey worked as a secretary for the Federal Government until her retirement. She was a member of the Martha Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and the North Kingstown Women’s Club.  

She leaves her loving daughter, Rhonda J. Bursey and her husband Charles of Voluntown, CT. Cherished grandmother of Meghan J. Calkins of Jackman, ME and Michael T. Bursey of Voluntown, CT.  She was the sister of the late Eloise Saulsbury, Lucille Eubank, Jack A. McKnight, Arthur E. McKnight, Leroy D. McKnight, & J. Neil McKnight.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.  Burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the North Kingstown Animal Shelter Support Foundation, 395 Hamilton Allenton Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
